String Quartet no. 1 “Echoes of Layers”
This quartet follows a path from distant, minimal observation to the complex structures that lie within. Inspired by a walk through the woods — where the landscape first appears simple and minimal — it begins to reveal its complexity the closer you get, layer by layer. In other words, it is also a journey into your inner cosmos.

I. Horizon. Unfolding
A wide, open view begins to reveal itself. You can see the woods from a distance — it has one shape, one form, and appears as a unity. The closer you get, you start to notice the differences between the objects. You begin to see that this seemingly simple structure is a much more intricate form.

II. Growth. Time
Inspired by the 1910 film The Birth of a Flower by Percy Smith — one of the first time-lapse based movies, where we can watch flowers bloom before our eyes. This movement continues the journey inward, entering the realm of transformation — the fractal nature of life. A fractal is a structure that repeats itself at different scales, often in self-similar patterns. It also reminds me of a lifelong study of the self: a process of learning and becoming more aware.

III. Depths. Cells
Inspired by the sound of the South Indian drone instrument, the tampura. This movement offers a perspective from the microscopic level — an exploration of inner space. This is where the journey turns inward fully — into the core, where nothing is hidden and everything is essential
